For over 168 years, Cunard ships have reigned on the high seas and rarely have there been more exciting times for our company.
In December 2007 we successfully launched Queen Victoria the latest Classic Cunarder. If you take time to browse through the special area on our site dedicated to Queen Victoria, you'll see what a magnificent ship she is. Be sure to look at the virtual tour with 360-degree images of the beautiful interiors of the ship.
2007 marked QE2™s 40th anniversary. Since she came into being, QE2 has had a spectacular career and is now simply the most famous ship afloat . She has hosted every senior member of the Royal Family at least once; has welcomed Prime Ministers and Presidents around the world; and has been home to a host of celebrities and film stars. Will you take your place in history in 2008 by joining her on her farewell season?
Queen Mary 2 continues her scheduled transatlantic service and the demand for this legendary crossing is growing. I encourage you to book early to avoid disappointment, as the most recent season has proved that the era of transatlantic travel by ship is stronger now than ever.
Our newest liner, Queen Elizabeth, was ordered in 2007 and will be launched in autumn 2010. We have signed an agreement with Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri for the construction of the new 2092-passenger ocean liner, which will be built at their Monfalcone yard. The vessel will be the second largest Cunarder ever built. Queen Elizabeth will offer the very best of Cunard's values and traditions, blended with every conceivable modern luxury that you, our guests, expect. Through her elegant public rooms and legendary Cunard White Star service, this new ship will reflect the grandeur which has been associated with Cunard ships since the introduction of the Mauretania in 1907; and from the outside, her black hull, gleaming white superstructure and distinctive red funnel will echo the classic characteristics of the company's distinctive liner heritage. Queen Elizabeth will fly the Red Ensign with her homeport Southampton, as is the case with our other Cunard ships.
We know that in todays ever-changing world, one of the most valuable commodities is time. Once spent it can never be regained, and that is why we invite you to create holiday experiences you'll never forget. Spend six leisurely days crossing the Atlantic, become reacquainted with loved ones; or if you prefer, spend weeks or months visiting distant lands and gliding into mystical harbours. We believe that taking time to enjoy your life is time well spent. As you journey through our site, explore the wondrous possibilities available to you whilst planning your holiday. Whether it is for the first time or a return visit, we would be delighted to welcome you aboard in the near future.
Sincerely,
Carol Marlow
